Speaking as a physician who has also been schooled in the law, there is a vast difference between scientific discourse and political debate. Politicians are often former lawyers, where the truth is secondary to the party line. Physicians hold the patient's welfare as most important, and there is no room for compromise.
However, if you are employed by the government or an agency, and you do not actually practice medicine or treat patients, your position may be governed more by politics than medicine. In the current HCQ debate, the average non-medical person is getting fed the party line, not the opinion of the majority of practicing physicians. When it comes to HCQ and COVID, read what Dr. George Fareed has to say. He wrote letters to both the White House Task Force and to Dr. Anthony Fauci. These open letters were published in major media. As yet Dr. Fareed has not received any answers to his multiple questions. Join with me and my fellow physicians and ask both the Task Force and Dr. Fauci to answer Dr. Fareed's questions one by one. I publish his letters in my book about The Repurposed Drug Revolution.
FYI: Dr. Fareed is a former Harvard Professor. A 2015 CMA California Physician of the Year, an HIV and Cancer Research Pioneer, and also former Team Physician to The U.S. Davis Cup.
